Want to know how to check if your iPhone camera needs replacing? This is a tutorial on how to do exactly that.

There’s been a couple of users reporting that their iPhone 6 Plus iSight camera is acting funny. Blurry photos, not focusing properly and also unstable.

Apple officially admitted that there is indeed a problem with a small percentage of iPhone cameras. The affected devices were primarily sold between September 2014 and January 2015.

Apple will replace your iSight camera (free of charge!) if you fit the criteria and your device falls into the eligible serial number range.

Check if your iPhone 6 Plus camera needs replacing

Step 1

Go on your iPhone to Settings / General / About.

Step 2

Go to this page on Apple`s website and enter your iPhone Serial Number.

If your device is affected, you have the option to fix it for free.

On the same Apple website there are some links that will guide you to find the closest Apple Authorized Service Provider.

There is no information suggesting that you should not have your iPhone jailbroken when going at the Apple Store, but you might want to have a clean firmware version.

Also, don`t forget to update your device and check if jailbreaking is still available for your iOS version. If not, you might want to use tools like Cydia Impactor to keep your current firmware and also have the ability to re-jailbreak.
