Dev Team juts launched redsn0w 0.9.15 beta 1 and allows us to jailbreak and hacktivate iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 running iOS 6, but also installs Cydia automatically.
For iPhone 3GS with old bootroom, you can make untethered jailbreak.
Redsn0w hacktivation helps you use your locked device even if you don`t have the official carrier sim card. You must use SAM in order to have notifications.
redsn0w 0.9.15 beta 1 jailbreaks:
Download redsn0w 0.9.15 beta 1 from here
Download iOS 6 from here
Connect your device to your MAC/PC. In windows, browse to the folder you downloaded redsnow, right click on .exe file, select properties and then compatibility – check Run this program in compatibility mode and then Select Windows XP
On OS X Mountain Lion you must have “Gatekeeper” deactivated from settings and you must open redsn0w even if OS X warns you not to.
Put your phone in DFU Mode now. Close your phone, then press Jailbreak and Next. Redsnow will show you how to put your phone into DFU mode.
redsn0w will give you some options. You must check Cydia in order to install it and if you want, you can install custom bundles, add activation tickets and deactivate an iphone that already has a jailbreak. Choose your desired option, press Next and redsn0w will start jailbreaking.
You should now have a jailbroken iPhone if all went good. Your terminal has tethered jailbreak, which means you still need to make some steps.
Of course, if you have an iPhone 3GS with old bootroom, your jailbreaking process it`s done. Congratulations.
Put your phone in DFU mode again
If you did not closed redsnow already, press back and come to Jailbreak & Extras menu. If you already closed redsnow, start it again as mentioned before and load the ispw for iOS 6.
Press Just boot in Extras menu and redsnow should start your iPhone in tethered mode.
